How to create web hosting package in WHM
If you’re planning to start your own web hosting business, creating custom hosting packages is a crucial step in setting up your business.
WHM (Web Host Manager) is a powerful tool that allows you to create and manage web hosting packages with ease. With WHM, you can define the resources allocated to each package, such as disk space, bandwidth, email accounts, and much more.
In this blog post, we’ll take you through a step-by-step guide on how to create a web hosting package in WHM, so you can start offering your customers the perfect hosting plans for their needs.
How to add new package hosting package in WHM
First you need to login to your WHM area. You can do that using your WHM username and password directly from your browser or from our client area.
To login from your client area just click on Services > My Services > Manage.
Scroll down to the One Click Login section and click on WHMpanel, and you’ll be redirected to your Web Host Manager.
Once you’re logged in scroll down to the packages section and click on > Add a Package
Next, you’ll be redirected to a page where you’ll create your package, assign disk quota and bandwidth to it etc.
Web Hosting Resources Explained
- Disk Space Quota (MB); This is the total disk space you wish to allocate to the hosting account when created, e.g if you want to allocate 1GB of disk space to this entry plan you’ll enter 1000MB since disk space is calculated in MB by default in WHM.
- Monthly Bandwidth Limit (MB); Monthly bandwidth limit refers to the amount of data that can be transferred between a website and its visitors in a given month.
- Max FTP Accounts; Max FTP accounts refer to the maximum number of FTP accounts that can be created under a web hosting plan. FTP accounts allow multiple users to access the website’s server and upload or download files to and from the website.
- Max Email Accounts; Max email accounts refer to the maximum number of email accounts that can be created under a web hosting plan. Email accounts allow website owners to create email addresses with their domain name (e.g. name@yourwebsite.com) and send and receive emails using their own domain name.
- Max Mailing Lists; Mailing lists are a group of email addresses used to send messages to multiple recipients at once. Mailing lists can be used for newsletters, announcements, marketing campaigns, and other email communications.
- Max SQL Databases; Max SQL Databases refer to the maximum number of SQL (Structured Query Language) databases that can be created under a web hosting plan. SQL databases are used to store, organize, and retrieve data for web applications and websites.
- Max Sub Domains; Subdomains are used to create unique URLs for specific sections or pages of a website, and are created by adding a prefix to the domain name (e.g., subdomain.yourwebsite.com).
- Max Parked Domains; Parked domains are additional domain names that point to the same website as the primary domain name. For example, if your primary domain name is “example.com”, you can park “example.net” and “example.org” so that they also point to your website.
- Max Addon Domains; Max Addon Domains refer to the maximum number of addon domains that can be added to a web hosting plan. Addon domains are additional domain names that can be hosted under the same account and have their own website content and email accounts.
- Max Passenger Applications; Max Passenger Applications refers to the maximum number of Passenger applications that can be hosted under a web hosting plan. Passenger is a web application server that allows you to run Ruby, Node.js, Python, and other web applications with ease.
- Maximum Hourly Email by Domain Relayed; This limit is typically imposed by the hosting provider to prevent spam and ensure email server performance and stability.
- Maximum percentage of failed or deferred messages a domain may send per hour; The Maximum percentage of failed or deferred messages a domain may send per hour refers to the maximum percentage of emails that can fail or be deferred from delivery within an hour from a specific domain hosted on a web hosting account.
- Max Quota per Email Address (MB); Max Quota per Email Address (MB) refers to the maximum amount of storage space allocated to each email address hosted on a web hosting account. This limit is typically imposed by the hosting provider to ensure email server performance and stability.
Once you’re done filling in all the values just scroll down and click on Add.
